Nestled gently along the banks of the Ljubljanica River, the city is dotted with green parks, picturesque bridges, sidewalk cafes and a lively central market. See Prešeren Square, the impressive City Hall, Ljubljana University and the many bridges that the city is known for, such as Dragon Bridge where this majestic symbol of the city is on full display representing courage and power. Enjoy some free time for lunch in this vibrant town. In the early afternoon, travel towards Lake Bled nestled between the Julian Alps. Visit the centerpiece of Lake Bled, Bled Island, by a traditional wooden boat. Continue the afternoon in one of the most picturesque places in Slovenia. Collette OpatijaThis morning, depart Ljubljana. Get to know more of Slovenia when you visit Novo Mesto, a small-town gem embraced by the Krka River and landscapes of gentle hills. View the town from a unique perspective as you drift along the famous river bend. Later, continue on a walking tour with your local guide. Enjoy your free time and lunch on own. Continue to Croatia and the lovely seaside resort of Opatija, known as “Croatia’s Riviera.” This fashionable region was once the summer retreat for Roman Caesars and Habsburg Monarchs. After a short tour to learn how the meat is produced, enjoy a light lunch of homemade specialties. Arrive in Split, a seaside city full of Roman ruins and natural splendors. This afternoon set out on a walking tour featuring the impressive Diocletian’s Palace (UNESCO), one of the most significant late Roman historical monuments built by Emperor Diocletian when he left Rome at the turn of the 4th century. Explore its Peristyle and the Cathedral of St. Dominus. This evening enjoy typical Dalmatian cuisine during dinner at a cozy local restaurant.

This morning we depart Dubrovnik and travel to lovely Cavtat, a coastal resort town. After a short tour reveals its highlights, enjoy free time to grab coffee or lunch at one of its seaside cafes. Continue to the airport for a short flight to Zagreb, the capital of Croatia. A late afternoon tour highlights the best of this fascinating city that has marked the intersection of Eastern and Central Europe for more than 1000 years. Ride one of the most beautiful funiculars in Europe to the charming upper town.

Voltage in Italy is 220V. An adaptor (which changes the physical plug) and/or converter (which changes the electric current) are necessary if you plan to use an appliance with voltage different from the standard within the country you are visiting. When packing your electronic items for travel, please review the converter electric current level to make sure it is the same or greater than the items you are planning on using. A Taste of Croatia - $125

City: Dubrovnik
Duration: 7 Hours
Journey to Mali Ston and meet an oyster farmer, who will take you on a boat ride through the family’s oyster farm. Stop at a floating dock bar in the middle of the bay, where you’ll sample local wines paired with fresh oysters and mussels plucked from the sea. Continue along the Pelješac peninsula to Matusko Winery, a beloved spot by locals where you’ll taste 4-5 wines from the region. Then, travel to a local family’s home and learn about their production of olive oil. You’ll have the opportunity to taste the fresh oil, try the vegetables out of their garden, and enjoy traditional Croatian music. As you sample the family wine, enjoy a nice lunch at their home before heading back to Dubrovnik for the remainder of the day.

For the oyster farm experience, guests should be comfortable getting on and off a boat.

Charming Trogir - $65
City: Trogir
Duration: 4 Hours
Travel to the historic town of Trogir. A UNESCO World Heritage site, this coastal gem is renowned for its picturesque Venetian architecture. Trogir is set on a small island but is connected to the main land by bridge. Located within medieval walls, admire the prominent stone houses and scenic charm as you tour this historic city with a local guide. Visit the 13th-century Cathedral of St. Lawrence and admire the sweeping views from its bell tower. Enjoy free time to discover the city’s hidden nooks and crannies. Perhaps you’ll sit along the seaside promenade and admire boats slowly meandering by, or consider enjoying a bite to eat in a local café or restaurant. Although Trogir may be small in size, it makes up for it with its overflowing culture.

Guests will travel from Split to Trogir where they will enjoy a locally guided tour, including entrance to the St. Lawrence Cathedral, followed by free time before heading back to Split.

What exactly is your cancellation waiver?

We have the best cancellation waiver in the industry-period. You can cancel your trip up until the day prior to departure for any reason - sickness, change of heart or any reason whatsoever-and you will receive a full refund, minus the small cost of the insurance. That's a cash refund, not a voucher or certificate. There's no risk when you book with Collette.

But isn't it expensive?
Not at all! Let's say you were planning to take our Italian Vistas tour for 13 days. The land-only waiver is just $170 per person. That breaks down to about $13.07 a day-just a little over eight euros! The land and air waiver is only $30 more. That's airplane peanuts compared to the peace of mind you'll enjoy.

Plus, you're covered on tour.
Our cancellation waiver and insurance plan covers you on tour. If you have to stop your trip or return home early, need medical assistance or evacuation, suffer a baggage loss or delay; or are delayed on tour for 12 hours or more, you're covered.

My husband had an accident in New Zealand…He subsequently had to be transferred by ambulance to Invercargill (Southland Hospital) to have surgery on his leg. He spent one week in the hospital. I am so glad we always take out the insurance. Exception: If you originally purchased non-refundable airline tickets, the Waiver does not provide a refund for the airline tickets, taxes or fees in the event of a cancellation or a return transportation benefit if you must return home early. The air waiver does not cover medical evacuation or additional expenses associated with a medical emergency.

The Waiver Fee does not cover any single supplement charges which arise from an individual’s traveling companion electing to cancel for any reason prior to departure. In this case, the single supplement will be deducted from the refund of the person who cancels. Division of this charge between the two passengers involved is solely their responsibility. If insufficient funds are deducted from the canceling client, the traveling client will be charged the remaining portion of the single supplement.

Payment of the Waiver Fee (if chosen) must be received by Collette Vacations with your Deposit. The Waiver is non-transferable and valid for each applicant only.

Collette Vacations can assume no responsibility for and cannot be held liable for any wrongful, negligent or unauthorized acts or omissions of any travel agent or travel agency other than that of Collette Travel Service, Inc. itself, and its own employees.

PART B CONDITIONS & LIMITATIONS Certain exclusions and limitations apply and are detailed in the Certificate of Coverage. For example, coverage does not apply to: any sickness or condition of you, a Traveling Companion or an Immediate Family Member traveling with you that existed during the 60 days prior to the effective date of the coverages (this exclusion is waived if your plan payment is received by Collette Vacations within 7 days of your initial deposit/payment for your trip and you are not disabled from travel at the time your plan payment is received), suicide, normal pregnancy, war or any act of war, mental or nervous disorders. A Traveling Companion is defined as a person booked to share accommodations in the same room with you during your trip. Sickness or injury must require care by a Physician and must commence while the Travel Protection Plan is in effect for you. This plan does not cover a loss that results from an illness, disease, or other condition (of you, an Immediate Family Member, Traveling Companion or Business Partner), event or circumstance which occurs at a time when this plan is not in effect for you.
